The Livermore Public Library recognized Renee Lau as the 2019 Library Volunteer of the Year. Renee has been volunteering for the Library since 2014, serving as a host for Library programs. During this time, she has co-hosted and hosted approximately 75 adult programs. She also volunteers annually during the Summer Reading City Council Nights. Renee always has a big smile on her face, and knows how to handle the crowd. Whether the program has 10 attendees or 100, her interactions with attendees are always full of positive energy. Renee goes out of her way to make sure that the visiting speakers and performers are comfortable and have what they need for their presentation. Renee is an indispensable volunteer who represents the Library with poise and enthusiasm.

Izzy Kuntz has been selected as the Livermore Public Library’s 2019 Young Adult Volunteer of the Year. Izzy began volunteering in the Library’s Summer Reading Program in 2016. Following that summer, she joined the Library as a year-round volunteer, volunteering for two hours each week. Izzy helps the children’s librarian prepare props and toys for story times. She also helps with craft preparation, special projects, and organizing the Library’s book shelves. Izzy is currently in the seventh grade and is home schooled in conjunction with Tri-Valley Explorers. Her favorite subjects are history and literature, and she really enjoys reading. Izzy is also very active in the Valley Dance Theatre ballet group. Izzy aspires to become a librarian someday.
