While at Sycamore Grove Park the other day, I overheard a woman (who was preparing to leave) offer her daily parking pass to the driver of a car that was pulling into the parking lot. While this may, on the surface, seem like a “good deed,” it was in fact cheating the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District of funds needed to support LARPD park amenities.

Next time you are at Sycamore, look at the new visitor kiosk, the upgraded restrooms, the completely new paved path through the park, the native gardens, and the many other amenities (not to mention all the ranger-led park programs for adults and children). Who do you think pays for all this?
