Congressman Eric Swalwell just announced his intention to join the race for the 2020 presidency. As one of his constituents, I lost all confidence in his political ability for impartiality and willingness towards beneficial bipartisan solutions. His insistence on the Trump/ Russia collusion despite evidence to the contrary, unmasked an opportunist, a Party apparatchik willing to dupe his constituency for political gains. This perpetuation of a lie is demoralizing and serves only to further alienate the American voters in an atmosphere already charged with distrust and discord. Not good for our Democracy, not good for America. It’s time to rethink Eric Swalwell’s future career in American politics.
