Livermore Lawsuit Filed, Excavation Work Halted

On Wednesday May 22nd, the day after Save The Hill Group filed a lawsuit to force environmental review of a housing project called Garaventa Hills, earth moving equipment had appeared on the hill and began performing excavation and ground disturbing activities in violation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

The Garaventa Hills development site is a parcel located in Northeast Livermore between Laughlin Road and North Vasco Road. Save the Hill Group served a Notice of Intent to Commence Legal Action on Tuesday, May 21st, followed by the filing and service of lawsuit on Thursday, May 23rd.
