Six candidates are vying for three seats on the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Board of Trustees. Incumbents seeking re-election are Craig Bueno, Kate Runyon, and Anne White. They are challenged by Chung Bothwell, Emily Prusso, and David Vonheeder.

The Independent submitted questions to the candidates asking their views on a variety of educational issues, such as International Baccalaureate programs, charter schools, Career Pathways and Common Core. They were asked what they would like to accomplish or have accomplished as a school board member, how they would address safety and security issues, and what they would cut if there were a budget deficit.
