Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Livermore for Mark Palajac, 93. Rev. Mark Wiesner, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA.

Mr. Palajac was born to Peter and Mary Palajac on November 11, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on January 20, 2017 in Livermore. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946—truly a member of the Greatest Generation. He moved to Southern California in 1948 where he met and fell in love with a beautiful Irish redhead, Una Hunter. They were married in 1949 and there began a 67 year “courtship.” He was an electrical design engineer and worked in the aerospace industry. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City for 25 years. In 1981 he and his wife moved to Livermore, California when he began working at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and retired from there at the age of 65. He derived much pleasure in tinkering in his garage and watching TV.
