Nine-year-old Smayna Kasibhotla, junior member and reporter for Alameda County—Dublin 4-H Club, wrote, “October has been a very busy month for Dublin 4 H’ers, starting with National 4-H week, which was celebrated Oct. 6-12.
“For the 75th consecutive year, youths, parents, volunteers and alumni of 4-H across the country celebrated National 4-H Week during the first full week of October. 4-H’ers showcased the incredible experiences that 4-H offers to young people. It highlights the community’s remarkable youth who work each day to make a positive impact on those around them.
“This year Dublin 4-H members celebrated by leading the pledge of allegiance at the City Council meeting.
“Oct. 8 was the 4-H Spirit Day; 4-H’ers wore their uniforms to school to show their 4-H spirit. Nationwide, everyone was encouraged to wear their 4-H shirt, a clover or green to show support for 4-H youth. 4-H alumni around the country are always the first to acknowledge the significant positive impact 4-H had on them how as young people. The opportunities and experiences that 4-H provides youth empowers them to become true leaders.”
