Horse enthusiasts and pedestrians alike spent some time soaking in the sun on the South Livermore Valley Trail, along Wetmore Road in Livermore, on Oct. 12. The trail takes nature lovers through natural areas to enjoy colorful wildflowers, birds singing and beautiful vistas while walking with family and pets, jogging, or riding bikes or horses. The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District has closed facilities and suspended programs in response to the Alameda County Public Health Department order issued on March 16, 2020, but parks are still open. The trails are open year-round, Sunday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., however, some portions of the trails that run through Open Space parks are open from 7 a.m. to sunset.
