The Hindu Community and Cultural Center of Livermore will again offer grants to local nonprofit organizations serving the needs of the elderly, abused women, and youth.

Nonprofits primarily funded by private donations are encouraged to apply. The HCCC expects to provide $35,000 in grants this year.

The Grant-In-Aid program, which started in 1987, is one of several human services activities at the HCCC, which also include free health screenings, bone-marrow donor registration, supporting the Alameda County Canned Food Drive, distributing clothing and other necessities at the Livermore Division of the Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, and helping the needy through local shelters.

To apply, organizations should download an application form at Applicants are also asked to provide videos, no more than 90 seconds, highlighting their 2019 accomplishments. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 7.
