Interfaith Interconnect of the Tri-Valley hosts its annual interfaith Thanksgiving program on Sunday, Nov. 24., from 5:30–6:30 p.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Ave., Pleasanton. Afterwards, there will be a simple reception from 6:30 to 7 p.m., offering light refreshments and the opportunity for attendees and presenters to socialize.
All are welcome and RSVP’s aren’t necessary. There is no cost to attend, but an offering will be accepted to benefit Sunflower Hill (Sunflowerhill.org), a local nonprofit that works to create a sustainable residential community for individuals with special needs.
This year’s event will feature a variety of ways different faiths and cultures celebrate gratitude through music, song, dance, prayer, poetry, and scripture or other text.
Interfaith Interconnect includes over twenty Tri-Valley congregations. Its mission is “To enrich, inform, and educate ourselves and others about the great diversity of faiths and cultures in our valley.” In order to accomplish this mission, a number of events are held each year, including monthly Religion Chats, occasional education programs, and an annual picnic in recognition of International Day of Peace.
