Nichaolas Giacalone, MD, Radiation Oncology from the new Kaiser Cancer Center in Dublin, will be the guest speaker at the Opening Ceremonies of the Tri-Valley Relay for Life event, this Saturday, June 22, at Granada High School. It will begin at 9am on the football field, followed by the Survivor Lap, which begins the 24-hour event of cancer survivors, caregivers, friends and family supporting the fight against cancer. Survivors are encouraged to come and walk the survivor’s lap to celebrate their victory or battle against cancer. Pre-registration is encouraged at www.RelayForLife.org/TriValleyCa.

Mayor Marchand of Livermore, Mayor Haubert of Dublin and Kathy Narum of the Pleasanton City Council will all attend to show their support for the fight against cancer. Mayor Marchand is himself a cancer survivor.

In the evening will be the Luminaria Ceremony with lighted Luminaria surrounding the entire track, each one decorated in memory of a loved one lost to cancer or in honor of a survivor in their battle against cancer. To order a luminaria bag, go to www.RelayForLife.org/TriValleyCa.
