Twelve local students were awarded scholarships from the Livermore-Granada Boosters Organization. Bradley Archer (Livermore), Tyler Hattori (Granada), Natalie Hawkins (Livermore), and Colleen McCandless (Granada) each were presented with a $2,500 scholarship at the annual Livermore-Granada Boosters Olympian Scholarship Banquet held on May 20th at the Robert Livermore Community Center.

Other award winners, who received $750, were: Kalea Bartolotto, Taito da Costa, Johua White, and Madison Wright from Granada High and Abigail Harnish, Devon Maheshwri, Scott Ragatz, Veronica Valenton from Livermore High.

Nearly 600 people were in attendance for the annual event. All varsity athletes and coaches from Livermore and Granada High were invited to the dinner courtesy of the Livermore-Granada Boosters Organization, which has been in existence since 1949. Booster team awards for all boys and girls varsity sports were also presented.

The evening was celebrated by inducting Booster founders, the late Judge Joseph Schenone and Danny Dutro, into the Livermore Sports Hall of Fame. Schenone and Dutro were active community members that founded the organization 70 years ago. Bart Schenone, David and John Dutro accepted the Keith Fraser Community Award on behalf of their families.

There were two inductees who were accepted into the Livermore Sports Hall of Fame, which was established by the Boosters in 2009. This year’s inductees included Rob Wentworth (1979, Livermore High) for outstanding cross country and track, and Masha Vaysburg (2006, Granada High) for outstanding volleyball.
