Livermore Farmer's Market

Due to the extension of the shelter in place order to June 1, the City of Livermore’s Thursday evening farmers’ market in Carnegie Park will postpone its opening to June 4.

The Sunday farmers’ market, however, will open Sunday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Second Street between J Street and K Street. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.

This market will be an essential food outlet and will be filled with 35 local farms with their Spring harvest:

● Cherries from Brentwood;

● Sweet vine-ripened strawberries from Watsonville;

● And first varieties of peaches, plums and nectarines from Reedley.

“We look forward to a successful season of connecting the community with local family farms who grow your food,” said Cheyenne and Marion, Livermore Downtown Farmers’ Market managers.

This summer, the community can look forward to a full bountiful market of local family farms, live music, weekly children’s crafts, special events such as fruit tastings, cooking demos, kids’ day and harvest festivals.

Market goers are encouraged to pick up baskets of vine-ripened organic strawberries and the season’s incoming sweet cherries and berries from Brentwood. Spring crops such as fresh picked coastal lettuces, English peas from Half Moon Bay, flavorful green garlic and leeks are currently in abundance.

The Livermore Downtown Certified Farmers Markets are locations approved by the Alameda County Agricultural Commissioner, where farmers sell only the fruits and vegetables they grow. The Livermore Downtown Certified Farmers’ Markets are sponsored by the Livermore Downtown Inc. and managed by the California Farmers’ Markets Association, a nonprofit community service organization of 17 member markets operating in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1994.

Livermore farmers markets will be held each Sunday on Second Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning May 17; and each Thursday at Carnegie Park, from 4 to 8 p.m., beginning June 4.
