Bernardi Wins Local Competition  - Preston Bernardi

Preston Bernardi, from Amador Valley High School, finished first in the Amador Valley Lions Club annual student speech competition, the first step in the California Lions Clubs statewide scholarship competition.

Bernardi was one of six students to compete in the local Lions Club competition, designed to emphasize the importance of public speaking as an important life skill. The theme for this year’s speeches was “Homelessness in California; What is the Solution?” Speakers were judged the text of the speech, their delivery and the overall effectiveness and effort.

The next stage in the competition is the Zone Contest, scheduled for March 16.
