Writers of all genres will have the opportunity to share and give voice to their work again this year during open-mic nights hosted by Whistlestop Writers at Swirl on the Square in Livermore. “Even if you don’t have something to read, come listen to talented local writers and poets,” said Cynthia Patton Livermore Poet Laureate, who started the Whistlestop Writers Open Mic nights. “Jumpstart your creativity or the new decade.” Each writer will be given about 5 minutes of open-mic time, or about 750 words. The group meets from 7-9 p.m., on the fourth Wednesday of every month, at Swirl on the Square, a historic blacksmith shop turned wine bar in downtown Livermore.
