Swirl on the Square, a tapas and wine bar located in Blacksmith Square, has designated August as Livermore Education Foundation (LVEF) month. Throughout August, Swirl will donate $5 to LVEF for each white wine tasting flight purchased. LVEF will receive 100% of the tasting fees for white wine flights purchased on Sunday, August 30, along with 10% of all food and other wine sales. Also on Sunday, Toucan Jam, an eclectic / rock band, will perform live from 2-5pm in the Blacksmith Square courtyard.
The fundraiser also features a raffle prize: a $150 shopping spree at any Livermore business. Raffle tickets cost $5 each, or 5 for $20, and are available at Swirl. The winning ticket will be drawn August 30. Buena Vista Tree Service of Livermore is the raffle sponsor.
Swirl is open Wednesday-Thursday from 5pm till 9pm, Friday-Saturday from noon till 11pm, and Sunday from noon till 7pm.
"LVEF is extremely grateful to Swirl and Buenva Vista Tree Service," said LVEF President David Jonas. "It is so gratifying when the business community steps up to support Livermore schools."
