A special thanks to author Bill Leach for his poem entitled “Livermore,” which ran in last week's paper. Below is a note from the author:

“Years ago, I thought about how the name 'Livermore' rhymes with The Raven's 'Nevermore' in Edgar Allen Poe's fine poem and jotted down some lines relating 'Livermore' and Poe's black bird to our town's wine industry. But Poe's complicated triple-internal rhymes and bouncy rhythm stymied me then and I set it aside. I brought it out recently, thanks to downtime during our stay-at-homes, and saw a way to finish it.”
