The Museum on Main will welcome famous British statesman Winston Churchill back to Pleasanton on July 9th at 2pm and 7pm at the Amador Theater. The 7pm show is already sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 2pm matinee show. Winston Churchill will be portrayed by scholar and actor Kevin Radaker who is travelling from Indiana to share his talents with the Pleasanton community.
Much has happened since Winston Churchill was heard from shortly after WWI. The Prime Minister will share what he remembers of the trials and difficulties of WWII and parts of the inspiring speeches he offered over the airwaves in those dark days of 1940 and 1941, when England faced off against Hitler’s Nazi forces virtually alone. He will recall the unconquerable will of the British people and the friendship he formed with President Roosevelt. He will also discuss his growing concerns over the threat of the Soviets in Eastern Europe.
Those who are interested in attending the July 9th 2pm performance can purchase tickets online at www.museumonmain.org, at the Museum on Main or call (925) 462-2766. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors (65+)/students (with valid ID), and $10 for Museum Members. All speaker series events are general seating. PLEASE NOTE: the Amador Parking lot off Santa Rita Road will be closed, so patrons will have to park in the parking lots off Del Valle Parkway and walk to the Amador Theater.
