The Pleasanton Library and Recreation Department will host “2020 Pleasanton Celebrates with Traditions of Many Cultures” at the Firehouse Arts Center on Sun, Jan. 12, 2020, from 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This annual event is a celebration of the many cultures representing the diversity of Pleasanton and is sponsored by the Friends of the Pleasanton Library, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council and the Pleasanton PTA Council.
Visitors of all ages will have the unique opportunity to experience interactive displays at the Firehouse Arts Center representing the cultures of Serbia, Korea, Vietnam, Russia, China, Malaysia, Armenia, Japan, India, USA, Native American, and Mexico. Each booth will offer a cultural demonstration and activities throughout the day.
The highlight of the event will be a full-stage production commencing at 2 p.m. and featuring the Amador High School choir, Korean fan dancing, Chinese Kong Fu, Jewish songs, Russian folk dance, Japanese folk music, a Mariachi band, Indian traditional dance, Native American storytelling and Pleasanton’s High School Music Collaborative.
This event welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate the rich and vibrant cultures of Pleasanton.
