Grammy-nominated Joan Osborne returns to the Bankhead Theater in Livermore for one performance on Sunday, March 29. The singer/songwriter will be joined by the American indie band “The Weepies.”
Known for her gritty, blues-based sound and evocative songwriting, Osborne first attracted attention in the early 1990s among the vibrant new acts in New York City. Her breakthrough album, “Relish,” in 1995 included the chart-topping single, "One of Us.”
A sought-after collaborator and versatile performer, she has shared the stage withy such legendary artists as Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Emmylou Harris, Luciano Pavarotti, and The Chieftains. In 2003 she toured with the surviving members of The Grateful Dead.
In 2017, Osborne filled the Bankhead Theater with her take on the songs of Bob Dylan.
Performing along with Osborne will be “The Weepies,” whose original songs have been featured in movies, TV shows, commercials, and original education programming for PBS Kids.
