Kudos to Jacky Poulsen, a thoughtful private citizen, who over the past three years has created a community-wide campaign to provide bus tickets to those in need. Organized through Ashbury United Methodist Church in Livermore, the campaign is worth supporting. Last year, it raised enough to buy 8,400 tickets, which help the low income and in turn benefit the larger community. The tickets enable students get to school, patients get to medical appointments, workers get to work. This is grass roots charity at its best.
