Livermore will become the focus of the Little League world as the site of the Little League Intermediate World Series. California District 57 is the official host.

Twelve teams from around the world and the United States will compete for the championship title in games to be played at Max Baer Park July 29 to August 5. Admission to the games is free.

To date, teams from Australia, South Korea, the Czech Republic and Mexico have qualified. The District 57 champion is automatically entered. A team from Livermore earned the honor.

The event includes a live broadcast by ESPN of the championship game on August 5.

An official welcome will take place on July 28 at 4 p.m. on the Bankhead Plaza in downtown Livermore.

The World Series represents a wonderful opportunity to showcase Livermore, including the downtown, wine country, and many parks. We urge people to roll out the welcome mat for our many visitors.
