A Women’s March has been scheduled at the Amador Valley High School football field in Pleasanton.

The first such march in the Tri-Valley, it joins the nationwide commemoration of the 2017 Women’s March in Washington D.C. This year’s theme is #TruthToPower, celebrating the #WomensWave, and knowing you can #UseYourVoice.

The local event kicks off with a rally in the Amador Valley High School football stadium on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m. Speeches will be followed by a march through downtown Pleasanton, ending back at the stadium with a Women’s Expo. More than a dozen non-profits will showcase their literature on tables at the Expo, and some businesses will be represented.

Organizers invite people of all ages and genders who share the belief that empowerment calls for inclusion, expression, activism, and involvement to join the march.

We urge all not just to take part in the march, but also to continue to be engaged in actions that will result in change.
