We have world leaders in climate change research and solutions right here in Livermore, but the average citizen would know little about them and their work without the reporting in The Independent. Your article, “Roger Aines Aims for Zero CO2 Emissions by 2045,” on March 5 was a great summary of one of the exciting solutions that California is poised to implement if we have the political will and funding.

Tri-Valley Citizens’ Climate Education invites you to learn more about solutions to climate disruption that you can implement with your family, friends, and community at our next monthly meeting, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., on March 24, at the Livermore Public Library. Tony Green and team will be presenting “Project Drawdown,” detailing some of the 100 most effective solutions to safeguard our planet.

We are also collaborating with Bothwell Arts and Las Positas College to compile a menu of events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. The activities will span 10 days, designated as “EarthWeek Livermore 2020.” Visit our website, https://trivalleycce.org, to learn more and to get involved. We welcome schools, youth groups, clubs, faiths, and businesses to exhibit, host a tour, etc., to share ways that they are working towards a sustainable future.

We have so much expertise right here in the Tri-Valley. Let’s connect and amplify our efforts.
