The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District will hold a Board Candidate Information Night at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, July 7, for anyone interested in running for either of the two seats on the Board of Education up for election in November.
The Board of Education is the school district’s policy-making body.
Community members are invited to attend, listen, and ask questions during the informal session in the district board room at 685 E. Jack London Boulevard in Livermore. Face masks will be required and seating will be arranged to maintain 6-feet between individuals.
The session will provide information about the district, roles and responsibilities of a board member, and the election process. Additional topics will include a meetings calendar, timelines for candidates, conflict of interest and campaign reporting requirements, city regulations regarding campaign signs, and the California Fair Political Practices Commission rules.
All filing documents will be available from the Alameda County Office of the Registrar beginning July 13, and must be submitted by August 7. The five board members serve staggered four-year terms.
