Livermore City Manager Marc Roberts announced the appointment of Scott Lanphier as the new Public Works Director, effective July 8, 2019. Lanphier served as the Director of Public Works for Colusa County since 2013. A nationwide competitive recruitment was conducted.
Lanphier replaces Darren Greenwood.
Lanphier brings over 27 years of experience in management and infrastructure planning, engineering and maintenance, spanning federal, state, local, and private sectors. As the Director of Public Works for Colusa County, Mr. Lanphier was responsible for hundreds of miles of roadways, over one hundred bridges, two water delivery systems, and solid waste facilities. In his role as Director, he served as Executive Director of the Colusa County Transportation Commission, County Road Commissioner, County Floodplain Manager, and County Engineer.
Lanphier holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado, Denver, and he is a licensed California Professional Civil Engineer and California Professional Traffic Engineer, as well as a Certified Flood Plain Manager. He also has three years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps.
