Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) headlined a fundraising reception on Sunday night for Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Dublin) at the Pleasanton home of businessman Joe Johal. More than 250 people attended the event.

Pelosi praised Swalwell’s active roles on the House Intelligence and Judiciary committees, as well as his leadership as a co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee. Swalwell, who has two young children, is helping to lead the fight to protect our democracy, our environment, and our economy for America’s children, she said.

Swalwell thanked Pelosi for her strong, unerring and inspirational leadership in passing legislation to help working Americans. These include bills to end gun violence, eliminate discrimination, raise the minimum wage, and clean up the dirty money and dirty maps choking our democracy. He also thanks her for holding the Trump administration accountable for its actions.

Swalwell, 38, is seeking a fifth term representing California’s 15th Congressional District, which includes San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, Sunol, Hayward, Union City, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Cherryland, Ashland and Fairview, as well as parts of Fremont and Danville. The primary election is scheduled for March 3, 2020.
