The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has announced a new funding opportunity, the Community Health Protection Grant Program, for Bay Area neighborhoods most impacted by air pollution. The Tri-Valley is an eligible community.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available to community groups, neighborhood associations, and other community-based nonprofits for activities that increase interest in local air quality issues and broaden a community’s ability to partner with the Air District to develop future emission reduction or air monitoring plans.
Funded projects may include community needs assessments, community organizing, and efforts that lead to more authentic and empowered community participation in decisions that impact local environmental health.
Applications will be accepted until June 21, 2019. You can submit an application on the Air District's Community Health Protection Grant Program web page. Interested applicants are also encouraged to register to attend an informational webinar on Wednesday, May 22, at 3:30 PM.
