Christopher Mathew Carretta died April 16, 2020, at the age of 30. He was born on Dec. 12, 1989, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to Marie Carretta. Shortly after Christopher was born, his mother moved with him to California, settling in Livermore.
Christopher was athletically gifted, whether it was throwing fast balls in Little League, playing golf with his grandfather, or just enjoying a game of coed softball.
He started high school at Granada, transferring to Livermore High at the start of his senior year, and graduating with the class of 2008. In 2007, he enlisted in the Army National Guard as an Infantryman, serving six years with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry, at Camp Parks in Dublin, California. He worked for his family business, VetEquip in Livermore, for over 15 years.
Christopher enjoyed duck hunting, hiking, target and trap shooting, the outdoors, and traveling. He traveled throughout most of the United States and Europe with family and friends, and to Australia while in the military.
He was an amazing son, grandson, nephew, friend, husband, and father to his son Grayson Mathew Carretta. Christopher was a good man who touched many lives.
