Lillian “Maxine” Reaume, of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully at University Hospital in London, Ontario, on June 1, 2020, at the age of 87.
She was the beloved wife and best friend of Terrence “Terry” Reaume. She was also the dearly loved and cherished mother of Sherry Reaume Smith, Timothy Reaume (deceased), Dianne Reaume VandeCapelle (Colin) and Beverley Duong (James). She was the sister-in-law of Pauline (Murray) Clarke and lifelong friend and flower girl in her wedding Nancy Cumberland.
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Michael Reaume (Jennifer), Donovan and Devin Duong, John Reaume, and David Smith, and by her great grandchildren, Kaleb Reaume, and Dallas and Rem Leverette, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Maxine was born in Iona, Nova Scotia, Canada, on Sept. 21, 1932, the daughter of the late McSherry and Annie Hyde. She raised her family in California, returning to Canada later in life.
Maxine was a member of both St. Anne’s Catholic Church in St. Thomas and Holy Angels’ Catholic Church in Toronto. Miss St. Thomas in 1951, and a former California girl, she was Mumma, Grams, and our “Lil!”
In keeping with her wishes, a memorial service will take place at a later date. Cremation will be held with interment of ashes in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, is handling arrangements.
