Timothy William Baxter, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 22, from a pulmonary embolism at ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton, California. He had been a resident of Livermore, California, since 2004.
Tim was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, on Dec. 13, 1971, to Neil and Judi Baxter. In 1976, he moved to San Jose, California, where he attended Bret Harte Middle School and Bellarmine College Preparatory High School. Tim excelled in sports, playing point guard throughout his four years at Bellarmine, and holding the triple jump record at Bellarmine for 20 years. He received an alumnus award for excellence.
Tim then attended the University of California, Davis, where he majored in biology. After graduation, Tim began his career in biotechnology sales at Incyte Pharmaceutical, Agilent Life Sciences, Roche Diagnostics, and Vela Diagnostics.
Tim demonstrated leadership qualities in his work, his sports and his community. He played soccer in adult leagues and coached youth soccer and baseball. He had just returned from a trip to China, where he received an award as Vela’s top executive for the year. His family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love from the people who knew him.
Tim is survived by his parents, Neil and Judi Baxter; his children, Dylan and Harris; two brothers, Todd (Elizabeth), of Louisville, Colorado, and Thomas (Tanya), of Priest River, Idaho; nieces, Emily and Haylee of Louisville, Colorado, and Ellie, of Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho; nephew Thomas Jr. “TJ” (Danielle); great nieces, Kayla and Kamryn, of Reno, Nevada; and nephew Keegan Jones, of La Porte, Texas.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, in Livermore at the First Presbyterian Church, 2020 Fifth St. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for the children’s college fund.
