Kickboxing Team

Alexis Aying, Mayalanni Erediano, Noah Wong, and Caleb Wong compete with the USA National Karate and Kickboxing Team.

On February 15, 2020, four Kokua Martial Arts & Fitness Academy (Pleasanton, CA) students competed at the KC Challenge & WAKO Nationals in Kansas City, MO to qualify for the World Association of Kickboxing Organization (WAKO) USA National Karate and Kickboxing Team. Alexis Aying, Mayalanni Erediano, Noah Wong, and Caleb Wong will compete in the WAKO Junior and Cadet World Kickboxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia August 19-30, 2020. Aying (Granada High 10th grader), age 15, won 2nd place in 16-18 year old female -55kg point fighting, 2nd -60kg point fighting, and 2nd place in the 16-18 year old female open weight at the WAKO Nationals and will compete in the -55kg 16-18 year old female point fighting weight class at the WAKO Junior and Cadet World Kickboxing Championships. Erediano (Granada High 9th grader), age 14, won 2nd place in 13-15 year old female -60kg point fighting and will compete in this weight class at the WAKO Junior and Cadet World Kickboxing Championships. Noah Wong, age 12, won 2nd place in 10-12 year old male -47kg point fighting and will compete in this weight class at the WAKO Junior and Cadet World Kickboxing Championships. Caleb Wong, age 8, won 1st place in 7-9 year old male -36kg point fighting and is the 7-9 year old male WAKO USA Open Weight Champion. Caleb will compete in the -36kg weight class at the WAKO Junior and Cadet World Kickboxing Championships.
