Livermore High School Lacrosse senior Austin Weinshelbaum looks to pass.

Livermore High Cowboys hosted their first game of the 2019 - 2020 boy’s lacrosse season, playing crosstown rivals Granada Matador’s last Wednesday night. Jake Herwig went 6 goals/7 assists for 13 points, Austin Weinshelbaum dominating 92% of face-offs, Conor Wilson, goalie, had 4 saves, while Mason Bammer and Ben O’Connor held down the defense. Rounding up a Cowboy win for the LHS varsity boys, 18 – 4. We are expecting an exciting lacrosse season. Come out and support your local team - Go Cowboys!

Granada JV Lacrosse, led by their Goalie Tommy Huff (0) and defenders Justin Wallace (1), Sam Butler (20) and Colby Wallace (22) took on the Casa Grande Gauchos to kickoff the season. It was an exciting game that went back and forth through all 4 quarters. The Matadors did their part to keep up with the Gauchos as Kalel Disu (7) scored 4 goals, Chase Parker (14) scored 1 goal, plus 1 assist, Alex Operin (28) had 3 goals, and Luke Leary (11) 1 assist. However, in the end the Gauchos scored a late goal to take the lead, which proved too much to overcome. Matadors lost the match up 9-8.
