Jana Barron leads her teammates to a top-four sweep of their race at Shadow Cliffs.

The St. Michael CYO Cross Country team had their fourth meet of the season on October 11 on their home course at Shadow Cliffs. The highlight for the team was the dominating performance of the grades 6-8 girls who had six finishers in the top 10, including the top four positions, to earn a perfect score. The top runners were Jana Barron (1st), Evelyn Ruckmann-Barnes (2nd), Kerrigan Sauder (3rd), Mia Lnenicka (4th), Kate Birdow (7th), and Nora Blair (10th). Also running well were Lauren Waters, Emily Hetherington, and Veronica Sterneckert. Despite taking the top two spots, the 6-8 grade boys were narrowly edged for first. Top finishers were Alek Schade (1st), Adrian Gomez (2nd), Daniel Enrique (11th), and Callan Mak (13th). The 3-5 grade boys were also narrowly edged for first; they were led by Gabriel Heule (1st), Dylan Walker (8th), and Noah Lloyd (9th). The girls grades 3-5 team of Peighton Hanson (11th), Olivia Warren (16th), and Claire Spinka (19th) were third. Finally, in the K-2 race, Levi Walker was 7th for the boys and Sophia Enrique was 2nd for the girls.The team finishes the season at the Diocese Championship on Oct. 18.
