West Coast Soccer Club teams participated in the Copa Soccer Center Inaugural Futsal League in Walnut Creek, CA.

Six West Coast Soccer teams participated in the Copa Soccer Center inaugural futsal league in Walnut Creek, Ca. This is an another great example of how West Coast Soccer programs continues to support their players during the off season with opportunity’s to play at amazing sports facilities like Copa. West Coast Soccer has found creative opportunities for kids to learn, develop and grow. The West Coast boys played two mixed sessions of futsal and indoor soccer for a total of 16 games each from November through February. “There were many moments to remember for our boys program and it was another great experience for them to learn while having fun” said Rob Hansen WCS Boys Youth Director. The boys of West Coast entered their 2010 Riptide, 2009 Bombora, 2010 Tsunami & 2009 Tidalwave where they had two over-all champions in two age groups during the winter season and the 09 Tidalwave won the Championship last weekend in PK’s in Dramatic fashion. 2010 Tsunami won the Championship in session one and was in the finals this session two. Both Bombora and Riptide also had fantastic seasons. Every weekend WCSEQ had to battle teams from Concord, Orinda, Walnut Creek, DIablo, Danville and many other NorCa soccer clubs. This was a great introduction into the game of futsal for many of the club players. On the girls side, WCS had introductory futsal for their 2009 Klash and 2010 Wolfpack teams. Klash won three out of four games while the Wolfpack went undefeated. The 06 Krossfire Girls team split into Pink and green teams for the Copa Futsal league where they played up an age group in the U15 girls division, both teams showed well and finished top five in the league. The U14 Krossfire 06 Girls will play up in the U15 05 Girls age group at the Copa Surf outdoor tournament in Morgan Hill this weekend. “futsal is an integral part of our players development, the Copa Winter League provided us the perfect opportunity to work on our technical skills while preparing our players for the upcoming college showcases and NorCal State Cup events.” Said West Coast Soccer Director Troy Dayak.
